{"id":5375,"date":"2017-05-06T20:25:40","date_gmt":"2017-05-06T18:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intalent.udc.es\/?p=5375"},"modified":"2019-05-03T16:20:44","modified_gmt":"2019-05-03T14:20:44","slug":"marie-curie-actions-individual-fellowships-msca-if","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/en\/marie-curie-actions-individual-fellowships-msca-if\/","title":{"rendered":"Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF), a strong commitment to the mobility of excellent researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The aim of the <strong>Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships (MSCA IF)<\/strong> is to improve the creative and innovative potential of <strong>experienced researchers<\/strong> (researchers who have completed their doctorate or who can demonstrate more than 4 years of full-time research experience), by means of individual projects, encouraging <strong>international and cross sector mobility<\/strong>, in universities, research centres, research infrastructures, businesses, SMEs and other socioeconomic groups in <strong>Europe and further afield<\/strong>. The Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships will be open until the <strong>12<\/strong><b>th September 2018.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>The grants are very well endowed economically speaking<\/strong> and are requested by the researchers along with the host institutions in which they will carry out their research activity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Applicants to the Individual Fellowships must make their application in one of the<strong> 8 proposed scientific areas<\/strong>: Chemistry, Social Sciences and Humanities, Economic Science, Engineering, Information Science, Geosciences and Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The individual Fellowships have two categories for participation which differ in the rules regarding mobility: the <b>European Fellowships (EF) <\/b>and the <b>Global Fellowships (GF). <\/b>The differences will be outlined below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>The European Fellowships (IF European), promoting mobility within the European Union<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">T<\/span><span class=\"s1\">he pro<\/span><span class=\"s2\">jec<\/span><span class=\"s1\">ts <\/span><strong><span class=\"s2\">la<\/span><span class=\"s1\">st <\/span><span class=\"s2\">b<\/span><span class=\"s1\">etween 1 a<\/span><span class=\"s2\">nd <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\"><strong>2 years<\/strong> and the <strong>app<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><strong>licants<\/strong> mus<\/span><span class=\"s1\">t have either completed their doctorate or have 4<strong> years full-time research experience<\/strong> at the closing date of the call.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They are aimed at promoting <strong>mobility within the member states of the European Union or associated countries<\/strong>, which is a great opportunity for those <strong>excellent researchers<\/strong> who have left their native countries to return home, whether they are part of the European Union or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>European Fellowships<\/strong> have various multidisciplinary panels which offer different possibilities to researchers:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\"><b>Standard European Fellowships \u2013 EF-ST<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These fellowships are for experienced researchers who have not lived or worked in the country for more than 12 months in the past 3 years up to the close of the call and who want to carry out their research work in any member state of the European Union or associated country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\"><b>CAR &#8211; Career Restart Panel<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>They aim to support researchers who want to restart their careers in Europe after a period of inactivity, for example after maternity\/paternity leave, period of research abroad etc\u2026 In this case, the researcher must not have lived or worked in the country for more than 36 months in the 5 years preceding closure of the call. Furthermore, he\/she must not have carried out any research work in the 12 months before the closure of the call (14\/9\/17).<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\"><b>RI \u2013 Reintegration Panel<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The aim is to facilitate the return and reintegration of researchers who are working in countries that are not member states or associated countries of the European Union to a more permanent post in Europe. The condition for these applicants is that they must have the nationality of an EU member state or associated country, or have carried out their research activity in a member state or associated country for at least five consecutive years.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\"><b>Society &amp; Enterprise Panel (EF-SE): <\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This is a multidisciplinary panel aimed at researchers who want to carry out their work in non-academic organisations in European member states or associated countries. The condition of these fellowships is they must not have lived or worked in the country for more than 36 months in the 5 years preceding closure of the call.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>The Global Fellowships (IF Global), promoting international mobility<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Global Fellowships (IF Global) promote mobility outside the European Union and have an obligatory return phase to Europe. The projects last from 1 to 2 years, with an additional year for the return phase to the EU member state or associated country benefiting from the grant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For these grants, the researcher based in an EU member state or associated country, must not have lived, studied or worked in the country in which he\/she is going to carry out his research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The first phase of the project must be carried out in a country which does not belong to the EU nor is an associated country, and in a partner organization.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The second \u201creturn\u201d phase, must take place in the country of the host institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>The function of host institutions. \u201cThe UDC, a host institution at researchers\u2019 service\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The host institutions are responsible for hiring, supervising and training the researchers and must be located in an EU member state or associated country. As we pointed out at the beginning, they are responsible for signing the Grant Agreement with the European Commission and receive funding from this entity.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p6\"><a href=\"mailto:intalent@udc.es\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5378\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intalent.udc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/banner-udc-post.png\" alt=\"The UDC, a host institution at researchers\u2019 service\" width=\"632\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/banner-udc-post.png 632w, https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/banner-udc-post-300x109.png 300w, https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/banner-udc-post-600x217.png 600w, https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/banner-udc-post-624x226.png 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\"><b><br \/>\nWhat does the Individual Fellowships funding cover?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The two Individual Fellowships categories, both the European Fellowship and the Global Fellowships cover the following expenses for researchers:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5379\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intalent.udc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/What-does-the-Individual-Fellowships-funding-cover.png\" alt=\" What does the Individual Fellowships funding cover\" width=\"560\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/What-does-the-Individual-Fellowships-funding-cover.png 560w, https:\/\/www.intalent.udc.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/What-does-the-Individual-Fellowships-funding-cover-300x108.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u2022 Living costs, <\/b>with an amount of \u20ac4.650 per month which is adjusted according to a country correction coefficient depending on the cost of living in the country where the beneficiary is located, for example in Spain the coefficient is 97.6%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u2022 Travel expenses, <\/b>a fixed amount of \u20ac600<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u2022 Family expenses, <\/b>a fixed amount of \u20ac500<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With regard to the institutions, they receive \u20ac800 on a monthly basis for every researchers they host, to cover costs of research activity and the practical activities carried out by the researchers.
