In this edition of the program, 148 applications were submitted, and the researcher was awarded a grant of 1 million euros to develop his innovative project at UDC<br \/>\nover the past four years, becoming the only winner on the Law panel and consolidating his leadership in this field.<\/p>\n<div id=\"tw-container\" class=\"nev7se\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"tw-ob\" class=\"tw-src-ltr\">\n<div class=\"oSioSc\">\n<div id=\"tw-target\">\n<div id=\"kAz1tf\" class=\"g9WsWb PZPZlf\">\n<div id=\"tw-target-text-container\" class=\"tw-ta-container tw-nfl\">\nThe researcher was recently received at the Rector of the University of Coru\u00f1a by the Rector, Ricardo Cao; or Vice Chancellor of Research and Transfer, Jer\u00f3nimo Puertas; the Rector of the Faculty of Law, Xulio<br \/>\nFerreiro; Research Deputy, M\u00aa Amalia J\u00e1come; the director of the International Projects Office, Elena Solera; e director of the Research Personnel Recruitment Office (OCPI), Jose Mah\u00eda. As established in the<br \/>\nresolution of the call, it is expected that he will join the Faculty of Law of the UDC as of September 1, 2025.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Ulf Linderfalk, Professor of International Law at Lund University, Sweden<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lund, Sweden, Linderfalk joined that institution in 2001 after successfully defending his research paper on the interpretation of international<br \/>\ntreaties. Recognized for his approach as a &#8220;specialized generalist&#8221;, his research explores the structural and philosophical aspects of the international legal system, addressing topics such as normative conflicts, legal<br \/>\nhierarchy, legal interpretation, good faith, abuse of rights, proportionality and discretion. His work integrates innovative theoretical perspectives, including Philosophy of Law, Theories of Language and<br \/>\nEpistemology.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his prolific career, he published four monographs, including On the Interpretation of Treaties (Springer, 2007) and Understanding Jus Cogens in International Law and International Legal Discourse<br \/>\n(Edward Elgar, 2020). He is also the author of more than 35 articles in academic journals of international prestige, such as the European Journal of International Law and the Leiden Journal of International Law.<br \/>\nHis widely cited research directly influenced the work of the UN International Law Commission in areas such as the norms of jus cogens and the fragmentation of international law, significantly contributing to the<br \/>\ncodification and development of international law.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to prestigious research grants from institutions such as the Swedish Research Council and the Ragnar S\u00f6derberg Foundation, he led collaboration projects with renowned universities, managing a total<br \/>\nfunding of approximately 2 million euros. Linderfalk&#8217;s impact is not limited to academia; He also supervised seven professors and three postdoctoral researchers, both of whom hold prominent academic positions.<br \/>\nHis commitment to training, quality research and the promotion of International Law makes him a key figure for the development of this field at an international level.
