Jaime Martín Pérez

Jaime Martín leads the Functional Polymers Laboratory at CITENI (Ferrol Industrial Campus). His research focuses on understanding the structural configuration of semiconducting polymers for organic electronics and photonics, correlating their molecular organization with optoelectronic properties.

He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (CSIC) and carried out postdoctoral stays at CSIC (Madrid), Imperial College London (Marie Curie Fellow), and POLYMAT (San Sebastián). He has held Ikerbasque and Ramón y Cajal research positions. He has led 13 competitive projects, including an ERC Consolidator Grant (€2M), and has secured over €3M as principal investigator.

Project

The project “Semi-Paracrystalline Organization in Polymers: Toward Stable Organic Solar Cells” (ERC-CoG, €2M) aims to unveil the molecular structure of semiconducting polymers through a new semi-paracrystalline model to develop more efficient and durable organic solar cells, driving advances in organic electronics and energy.
