Promoting
research
The main objective of the European Research Council (ERC) is to promote high quality research in Europe by providing long-term finance to projects through competitive calls. ERC Grants support individual researchers of any nationality and age who wish to continue their research in excellent science.
Starting Grants (StG)
Starting Grants are designed to support excellent researchers who have been in possession of a doctoral degree between 2 and 7 years and are starting their own line of independent research and want to form their own team.
Consolidator Grants (CoG)
Consolidator Grants are designed to support excellent researchers who have been in possession of a doctoral degree between 7 and 12 years and are consolidating their own team and independent line of research.
Advanced Grants (AdG)
Advanced Grants are designed to support excellent senior researchers with at least 10 years of experience and who present innovative, ambitious proposals at the frontier of knowledge.
